Keep OS X Address Book Up to Date for Free with Plaxo [Updated]

Sometimes I use free tools I downloaded from the internet a long time ago without ever sharing the wealth. Do you guys know about Plaxo? What about Plaxo for OS X?

Basically Plaxo is a way to store contacts online, so that you can access your address book by logging in to your Plaxo account from anything with a decent web browser and an internet connection. The added advantage to this is that if any of your contacts also use Plaxo, their entry in your address book gets automatically updated every time they make any changes. And if you make any changes to your own Plaxo card, everyone who has you as a contact will be updated with your new information.

"That's great," you say, "but I use Apple's Address Book and I don't want to switch." Well guess what? You don't have to. Just download the Plaxo plugin for Mac, and your Address Book will automatically sync with your online Plaxo account for free. The effect of this? Go through a few free, simple steps and whenever anyone in your contact list gets a Plaxo account, their information will stay up to date in your local Address Book from that point forward. And everyone else's Address Book or Plaxo file on you will stay up to date as well - there is zero maintenance necessary.

You're welcome.
